HSN vs Myprotein vs Prozis: how to compare them properly

These are three of the biggest online sports nutrition brands in southern Europe. The tub price is misleading: it changes week to week and each brand uses a different serving. Here is how to compare them fairly.

Key takeaways

  • HSN (Granada, Spain, founded 2007) makes most products in its own plant; Myprotein (UK, 2004) is owned by THG; Prozis (Portugal, 2006) also has its own factory.
  • Prices swing a lot: the same 1 kg tub of HSN Creapure creatine cost €70.11 at one Spanish shop on 17 October 2026, against a lowest recorded €53.31 in September.
  • Compare price per gram of active ingredient, not per scoop: HSN recommends 3.4 g of monohydrate (3 g of creatine), while Myprotein's scoop is 3 g of monohydrate (about 2.6 g of creatine).
  • No brand may promise more than the authorised health claims (the same for creatine in the UK and EU), whatever its size or certificates.
  • For UK buyers, Myprotein ships from the UK; HSN and Prozis ship from Spain and Portugal, so check delivery time, VAT and any import charges at checkout.

The short answer

There is no permanently “cheapest” brand: prices for the same product change a lot from week to week. What you can do is compare them properly: price per gram of active ingredient, real dose per serving and shipping costs, on the day you buy. All three are large brands with their own manufacturing and stated certifications; none may promise more than UK and EU law authorise. For UK readers there is one more factor: where it ships from.

Why the tub price misleads

1. Prices swing a lot. A real example: the 1 kg tub of HSN Creapure creatine sold for €70.11 at one online shop on 17 October 2026, while the lowest price recorded by the comparison site Kelkoo was €53.31 on 2 September — 24% less for the same product a few weeks earlier.

2. Each brand recommends a different serving. For creatine:

BrandRecommended servingActual creatine per serving
HSN (Creapure)½ scoop = 3.4 g monohydrate3.0 g — exactly what the authorised claim requires
Myprotein (unflavoured monohydrate)1 scoop = 3 g monohydrateabout 2.6 g

If you compare “price per serving”, HSN looks more expensive only because its serving is larger. The fair comparison is price per gram of monohydrate. Our creatine guide explains why 3 g of monohydrate is not 3 g of creatine.

3. Shipping counts. Delivery costs and free-shipping thresholds change with promotions. A cheaper tub plus €4–5 shipping can cost more than a slightly pricier one shipped free.

4. For the UK, the border counts too. Myprotein is a UK company and ships domestically. HSN and Prozis ship from the EU, so parcels to Great Britain go through customs: check that VAT is included at checkout, whether any duty or handling fee can be added on delivery, and how long it takes. A supplement sold to UK consumers by a UK business must also show a UK address on the label; a pack with only an EU address was made for the EU market.

How to compare in 3 steps

  1. Price per gram of active ingredient: total price (with shipping and any import charges) ÷ grams of active product in the pack. For protein, use grams of protein, not grams of powder.
  2. Same raw material: compare Creapure with Creapure, and generic monohydrate with generic.
  3. Same day: check all three on the same day; promotions often change the order.

What no brand may promise

Whatever their size or seals, supplements in the UK and the EU may only use authorised health claims. For creatine, the general one is that it increases performance in short, high-intensity efforts at 3 g a day. “Guaranteed muscle gain” or “fat burning” are not authorised.
